Built for the 8 million gamers who clip, share and compete
Medal needed a social layer built for gaming culture, not a generic feed. Designed the platform from the ground up: profile, clips, stats, community.

What we were building
Medal.tv is the world’s largest game clipping platform where gamers can clip their gameplay on their desktop or mobile device and make it their own with Medal’s full editing suite, and share it with other Medal.tv users or with the world on any social network with one-click.
The objective was to develop a comprehensive gaming social app that allows people from all backgrounds to connect, share and showcase their gameplay clips. The design features a cohesive, energetic and subdued interface that emphasizes the colors and liveliness of the clips and games.

THE PROBLEM
Gaming needed a social platform built by someone who understood gamers.
Gamers had no dedicated space to share clips, connect with peers, or build a real gaming identity. Existing platforms were designed for everyone, which meant they worked well for no one.

Fragmented gaming identity
Players had no central place to showcase stats, clips and achievements across the
games they play.

CRIT_02
Clip sharing was fragmented
Sharing a gameplay moment meant juggling multiple apps, losing quality and context at
every step.

ERR_03
No community infrastructure
Gaming is deeply social, but Twitter and Instagram were never built around moments,
stats, and in-game identity.

ERR_04
Discovery was broken
Finding players with shared game interests or similar skill levels was impossible

The Platform
One dashboard. Every clip, every stat, every moment.
The Medal dashboard is where 8 million gamers live. I redesigned it from zero - the clip feed, the activity stream, the stories rail, and the community highlights surface — all in a single, dark-native workspace.
Clip-first layout
Your latest clips, friends' shares, and Community Highlights - surfaced above the fold without scrolling.
Real-time activity feed
Tags, follows, milestones, and clip reactions from your network - live, inline, without leaving the dashboard.
Community Highlights
Algorithm-surfaced high engagement clips from the global discovery built into the home screen.

MY CONTRIBUTION
What I helped shape, end to end
Worked alongside a full design team on the full product surface alongside the Medal product and engineering teams. From the gamer profile to the clip feed to the design system powering every screen.

DESIGN SYSTEM
Gamer Profile, Identity System
Designed the centrepiece of Medal: a fully personalised profile showing game stats, trophy shelf, clip library, and social graph. A gaming identity in one place, customisable with badges, rank, and game tags.
Clip Feed, Gaming-Native Discovery
Designed the primary content surface: an infinite scroll feed built for gameplay clips. Personalised by friends and follow graph. Community Highlights surfaced by the Medal algorithm. React, comment, and share without leaving the card.
Game Statistics, Contextual Performance
Designed a Valorant stats widget in collaboration with Riot Games. Rank, top agent, K/D, damage per round, and a leaderboard positioning you against friends and the Medal community. Stats with social meaning.
Design System, Dark and Gaming-Native
Built the Medal design system from zero. Near-black foundation, high-contrast amber accents, and components designed for dense, data-rich gaming screens. 30 production screens, fully annotated for engineering handoff.

The Process
Six months of research, system building, and relentless iteration.
Started with gamers, not assumptions. Four archetypes, five research methods. Every decision traceable back to something a real gamer told us.
