What we were building

A manga, manhwa & AI storytelling platform — from the webcomics library to FableVerse's interactive fiction engine, built for 2M+ readers worldwide.

Readers wanted a home. Creators had no stage.
VoyceMe had thousands of stories but no unified experience — reading felt generic, AI felt like a toy, and creators had nowhere to build their world.

The best storytelling platforms don't just display content — they create a world you can inhabit. Every screen we designed for VoyceMe asked one question: does this feel like you belong here?

THE PROBLEM | 4 CRITICAL GAPS

Readers wanted a home,
Creators had no stage

VoyceMe had thousands of stories and no spine to hold them. Reading was generic, AI felt like a toy, and creators had nowhere to build a world.

No unified reading experience

Webcomics, manhwa, and AI fables lived on disconnected surfaces. No continuity, no identity for readers.

AI chat felt like a toy

FableVerse had no design language. It read like a generic chatbot rather than a story world worth returning to.

Creator tools were buried and primitive

Character and fable creation took too many steps. Discovery of creator tools was near-zero for new users.

Mobile was an afterthought

70% of readers were on mobile. The experience was unoptimised, heavy, and visually broken across devices.

MY CONTRIBUTION

What I shaped across three products

As lead designer I shaped the product across three surfaces: webcomics, FableVerse AI chat, and creator tools. Built the design system that held it all together.

A/B TESTING

01

01

Webcomics Platform: Discovery & Reading

Redesigned the webcomics experience end to end. Homepage, browse, story cards, and the chapter reader for 2M+ readers. Built around a dark editorial aesthetic that lifted the brand.

02

02

FableVerse: AI Chat Interface

Designed the immersive AI storytelling interface from scratch. Chat, choice system, image generation flow, and the See / Continue / Recap action bar.

03

03

Creator Tools: Characters & Fables

Designed the full creator suite. Character builder, fable creation, StoryPack management, and the image editing modal. Cut creation friction and raised retention.

04

04

Design System: Dark, Story-Native

Built VoyceMe's design system from zero. Dark foundations, purple accent language, manga-informed components. Token architecture spanning web, iOS, and Android.
